| Creating great financial reports needn't encroach on your family time |
Hi, my name is Allan. Although overtime is part of most people's lives, I'm passionate about using time-saving technologies to keep it to a minimum.Well, he clearly doesn’t work in finance, I hear you think! Actually, I do, although mainly in the technology space. I know all about reporting deadlines and crunch moments, about year end audits. I believe avoiding overworking boils down to two things:
It happens in a very subtle way: finance people grow comfortable with Excel as their ‘weapon of choice’ while their businesses are relatively simple, yet as complexity grows, so these spreadsheets become monsters which gobble up more and more of their precious time. Simply put, there is a point in the growth of a business at which Excel is no longer the best software tool to use, yet most of us cling to Excel because we’re so familiar with it. This is why I’m so passionate about our software, TM1, which pretty much takes over where Excel ends - it’s really intuitive for Excel users to work with, it saves a huge amount of time, and it leaves behind the scary downsides of Excel. (Anyone who’s ever had to republish reports because of underlying errors will know what I’m talking about!) So here’s the way we’re trying to make the world a little better: We’re giving Excel users great templates, skills and tips to get the maximum out of Excel, in the hope that some users may graduate to TM1 ;) I hope that our resources save you heaps of time! All the best,
